What:

Every year, snow sculptors from all over the world come to Breckenridge to compete in the International Snow Sculpture Championships. This year, 16 teams will travel to Breckenridge from January 21-30, 2019 to compete for the gold medal. Witness these talented artists completely transform 25-ton blocks of snow into MASSIVE works of art!

Fireworks: 6:00 p.m. Saturday, January 26 (can be viewed from downtown Breck)

Nightly ISSC Lightshow: The sculptures will be illuminated from dusk to dawn throughout viewing week.

Viewing Ends: 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 30, 2019. Event site will close and the Sculptures will be taken down.

How much does it cost to see the sculpture event?

Nothing – that’s right… it’s FREE!

The International Snow Sculpture Championships Presented by Breckenridge Brewery and your Hometown Toyota Stores is a free event open to the general public.

It looks cold - is there somewhere to warm up?

There sure is! The”Thaw Lounge + Music” is located inside the Riverwalk Center where there will be a DJ, event information, and warm drinks. Remember, this is a cold time of the year – dress warmly and appropriately!

Where do I vote for my favorite sculpture?

Cast your vote anytime during sculpting week by texting the code of your favorite sculpture. More details can be found at each sculpture and inside the Thaw Lounge.

Is parking available?

There is free parking available at the parking lot off of Airport Road (with free transportation to the event from 10 am – 6 pm).  The closest lot to the event is F-lot, but you will need to pay. You could also catch a Free Ride from our public transportation system from anywhere in town. Click here for a helpful guide on how to get around Breckenridge.

Are dogs allowed?

Yes. The International Snow Sculpture Championships Presented by Breckenridge Brewery and your Hometown Toyota Stores is a pet-friendly event. We ask that you help keep it that way by keeping pets on-leash and away from the snow sculptures.

There are 16 snow sculpting teams. The 2019 teams include: China (Yan Zhang), China (Wang Haifeng), Ecuador, France, Germany (Agrawarl), Germany (Theil), Great Britain, India, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Mongolia (Tserendesh), Turkey, USA (Colorado), USA (Breckenridge Colorado) and USA (Wisconsin).
