When is a good time to visit Breckenridge?

In order to help our readers decide when the best time to come to Breckenridge is, we asked some longtime Breck locals who work at Breckenridge Grand Vacations what their favorite month is. Here’s what they had to say:

Rick Tramontana, Breckenridge Grand Vacations Interval International Support Dept Manager: I would say that February is my favorite month of the year (next to September).  The snow has usually piled up deep by February, the weather is not as cold and the mountain tends to remain fairly quiet.  I can even recall a few February’s in the past where it has snowed all but a few days during the entire month.

Brad Beverlin, Breckenridge Grand Vacations Director of Loan Servicing:  May, because town is quiet and there is still plenty of snow to play in.

Scott Grosse, Gold Point Maintenance Manager: My favorite month in Breckenridge is June.  Town is green, the mountains are still white, and the sky is blue. Flowers start to bloom, aspen trees are covered with leaves, the days are long and warm and the nights are cool. The streets, trails and campsites are empty because visitors don’t realize that June is a perfect month to be at 10,000 feet.  Boats appear on the lake, skiers take their last turns on the higher peaks, hikers and climbers begin a summer of new adventure, and a new season of biking gets underway. What could be better? Maybe September…

Rob Millisor, Vice President of Breckenridge Grand Vacations: June, because it’s the beginning of over four months playing golf at the spectacular 27 hole Jack Nicklaus designed Breckenridge Public Golf Course.

Dale Holland, Breckenridge Grand Vacations Director of Maintenance:  August! Everything is green and just beautiful with warm nights and lots of daytime sun. The hiking and backpacking are just incredible with fishing and pristine back country scenery. It’s very easy to take a 2 hour hike and get away from everything – no cars, no computers, no noise. You can feel like you are a million miles away! Also, riding motorcycles on the mountain roads is just great this time of year and the Rocky Mountains of Colorado offer some of the best rides anywhere in the country.

Ginny Vietti, Breckenridge Grand Vacations Director of Marketing: I love September in Breck. The aspen leaves start to change, the restaurants have great 2 for 1 deals, the crowds thin out a bit and, best of all, there’s Oktoberfest!  When else do you get to enjoy watching fully grown men try to polka while wearing lederhosen and knee highs?

Kellen McGinnis, Breckenridge Grand Vacations Call Center Supervisor: My favorite month of the year in Breckenridge is October.  I enjoy the slower time around town, with restaurants doing two-for-ones, half-off drinks at some of the bars, and most of all the beautiful warm fall days.

Kimberly Johnston, Breckenridge Grand Vacations Director of Owner Relations: I would say December is my favorite month of the year in Breckenridge because there is nowhere else I would rather be for the holiday season. Breckenridge reminds me of a winter wonderland, like something you might see in a painting or a snow globe. The snow blankets the landscape and the Victorian style buildings line our quaint Main Street with twinkling lights. People sing carols and some reindeer even make an appearance! If you love the holidays, Breck is the place to be!
